Mrs. Wendy Leigh
I was born in Birmingham but moved to Montgomery just in time to start first grade. I attended MPS and graduated from Jeff Davis. I then attended Auburn University where I received bachelor’s degrees in Early Childhood Education and Family and Child Development. I completed my master’s degree in Elementary Education at Berry College. Since completing my master’s, I have expanded my certification by adding Secondary English Language Arts. I am married to Anthony, and he works at Huntingdon College. We have one perfectly, precious daughter, Carey Mae, and we have two super energetic dogs, Lolly and Punkin. When I have a few spare minutes, I enjoy working out, reading, gardening, and cooking.
I began my career in Georgia where I spent four years teaching kindergarten and first grade. I started teaching in Elmore County in 1999. For seven years, I taught sixth grade at Millbrook Middle School. I then spent seven years teaching reading and core English at Stanhope Elmore High School. I have been at Airport Road Intermediate teaching fourth grade since 2013.
