I am proud and honored be a teacher at Coosada Elementary School. Our administrative staff is strong, supportive, and academically focused.

I was raised in Millbrook and graduated from Stanhope Elmore High School. My husband and I moved to Georgia in 1993, and I lived there for 24 years until I returned to my home state of Alabama in 2016. My children were born and raised in Georgia, so I consider myself an Alabama/Georgia girl.

I have a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in human resources management. In 2005, I completed the early childhood certification program at the University of North Georgia. My teaching experience includes kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and fourth grade. I taught in Georgia for twelve years, and in 2016 I moved to Daphne, Alabama where I taught kindergarten in Baldwin County. This school year, 2021-22, begins my fifth year at CES and my 17th year of teaching.

My son is an Army veteran and now works as a lineman in Houston, Texas. My daughter and her husband live in Georgia. She is a graduate from the University of North Georgia with a degree in marketing and graphic design. She works as a marketing manager at an outdoor retail and outfitter store in North Georgia. My son-in-law works in the Aviation Management industry. I have cat named Paula Deen and white German Shepherd named Layla.

I love to travel and have had the opportunity to visit some amazing places.  In June 2016, my daughter and I traveled to Germany to visit my son who was stationed there. We enjoyed exploring Germany as well as the Czech Republic. During the summer of 2017, we flew to Seattle, Washington, rented a car, and drove across the country back to Alabama. Along the way, we visited national and state parks and did lots of hiking. Our country is amazingly beautiful! In July 2018, we returned to Germany for another three-week visit. The summer of 2019 included a trip to Waco, TX and Alaska. I am hoping for many more traveling adventures in the future.

I am looking forward to building a relationship with you and your child throughout this school year. This will be an exciting year, and my goal is to make this year the best it can be both academically and socially for each student in my class.
